Arwelda Jane "Willie" Wilkinson, 80, of Goodwell, Oklahoma, passed away Friday evening, November 12, 2021 in Amarillo, Texas, surrounded by her loving family.
The daughter of Joseph Calvin and Martha Elizabeth (Lacy) Buttry, she was born December 27, 1940 in Glendale, Arizona. Willie attended school in Hammond, Oklahoma, and graduated from Salinas High School in Salinas, California.
She moved to Guymon in 1964 from Salinas, and was united in marriage to C.J. Wilkinson on April 11, 1964 in Clayton, New Mexico, and then moved to the family home in Goodwell they built together in March of 1976. She was a member of Grace Southern Baptist Church. Willie worked at home and alongside C.J. farming, until 1983 when she took a job outside of the home with Guymon Office Supply. In 1987 she took the job of Deputy Court Clerk, Texas County Court House, where she served until her retirement in 2018.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C.J. Wilkinson on October 22, 2020; her parents, Calvin and Martha Buttry; father and mother-in-law, Harold and Madonna Wilkinson; brother and sister-in-law, Art and Mary Jane Wilkinson, and granddaughter, Jessica Wilkinson.
Survivors include three daughters: Angela Hardy and husband, Doug of Perryton, Texas, Anastacia Wilkinson of Tomball, Texas, and Petie Barlow and husband, Wayne of Alvin, Texas; two sons: Jeff Wilkinson and Morgan Wilkinson both of Guymon; 14 grandchildren: Mike Meyer and wife, Melissa of Perryton, Nick Meyer and wife, Sarah of Texhoma, Caleb Abbott and fiancee, Nicole League of Perryton, Kayla Castanon and husband, Edgar of Canyon, Samantha Hardy of Perryton, Magen Hyde and husband, Derek of Amarillo, Brooke Hardy of Amarillo, Ethan Fischer of Hooker, Braden Fischer and wife, Sarah of Hooker, Justin Barlow and Trenton Barlow of Alvin, Texas, Clay Wilkinson and wife, Jamie of Columbus, Georgia, Carlin Wilkinson of Monett, Missouri, and Seth Wilkinson of Guymon; 15 great grandchildren: Mason, Matthew, McKenzie, Madison & Marshall Meyer of Perryton, Hunter & Hayden Meyer of Texhoma, Remington Abbott of Perryton, Breynlenly and Charley Castanon of Canyon, Aeryanna & Charlotte Hyde of Amarillo, Wren Matthis & Miles Wilkinson of Columbus, Georgia, and Quentin Wilkinson of Monett, Missouri. Survivors also include one sister, Colleen Ross, two brothers, Jim Buttry and wife, Dodie, and Wayne Buttry and wife, Anita, and brother-in-law, Joe Wilkinson, along with several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 20th at 2:00 p.m. at the Goodwell First Baptist Church with Russ Tidwell officiating. Interment will follow in the Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon. The Wilkinson family will greet friends Friday evening, November 19th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Bunch - Roberts Funeral Home.
