Verna Mae (Voth) Schroeder went to her long awaited home in Heaven on Wednesday morning, May 23, 2018 at the Heritage Community in Guymon, Oklahoma at the age of 101.
Verna was born to Catherine and C.J. Voth in Hooker, Oklahoma on January 13, 1917. Her early years were spent in Adams, Oklahoma. She graduated from Adams High School.
On October 9, 1940 she married Herbert Schroeder. To this union was born three daughters: Alvera, Kathy, and Marylea. Verna was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She taught children's Sunday school and Bible school for 30 years at the First Baptist Church in Adams. Presently, she was a member of the Guymon First Baptist Church. Verna was very involved in her children's and grandchildren's lives and set a beautiful example for all of them. She will be deeply missed but we are comforted in our belief that her gain is so much greater.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1975; mother, Catherine Voth; father, C.J. Voth; sister, Martha Croft; and brothers: John, Herb and Roland Voth.
Survivors include her three daughters: Alvera White of Guymon, Oklahoma, Kathy and husband, Richard Swearingen of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Marylea Evans of Scottsdale, Arizona; her grandchildren: Kim Sepahpur of Houston, TX, Brooke Ann and husband, Carlos Lopez of Coppell, TX, Kerri and husband, Matt DiCicco of Los Gatos, CA, Shane Swearingen and wife, Crystal of Yukon, OK, and Heather and husband, Patrick Stafford of Scottsdale, AZ; and her great grandchildren: Kyler Sepahpur of Houston, TX, Ian and Brianna Lopez of Coppell, TX, Matthew and Delaney DiCicco of Los Gatos, CA, Kameron and Addison Swearingen of Yukon, OK, and Patrick, Brendan and Logan Stafford of Scottsdale, AZ.
A celebration of life service will be conducted Friday morning, June 1st at 10:30 a.m. at the Guymon First Baptist Church officiated by Pastors Gordon Schroeder, Michael Carter and Tom Freeman. Interment will follow at the Hooker Cemetery. Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
A family visitation will be held on Thursday evening, May 31st at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
