Travis Keith Strickland, 49, passed away Saturday March 7, 2020 in Amarillo, Texas.
Travis was born on August 24, 1970 to Larry Keith Strickland and Lora Nell (Talbert) Strickland in Guymon, OK. He grew up in Dalhart, TX and spent most of his life driving trucks, hauling cattle. Travis loved helping and giving to others. He wasn't happy if he wasn't busy doing something for someone else. He enjoyed working on his trucks, Nascar, and Texas Tech football. He loved to joke around and make others laugh and pull an occasional prank on those he loved, most of all he loved his family and was proud to be "Grumps" to his grandkids.
Travis was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, Wayne and Willie Talbert and Stanley and Faye Strickland, a daughter, Taylor Layne Strickland and his father in law, Manuel Roybal, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Kelli Marie (Roybal) Strickland; his parents, Larry and Lora Strickland, sons, Ryan Keith Strickland, Jarred Austin Strickland; along with daughters, Hollie Lynn Strickland, Rebecca Ann Strickland, MacKenzie Nicole Strickland; and grandchildren, Tansley Jeanne Borchers, and Easton Landry Brooks. He also leaves behind a sister, Leah Cleavinger; nieces, Miranda Wilcher (Colton), Hannah Slimp (Taylor), Jade Zinser (Jeremy); great nieces Berkeley Star and Blaize Emerson Cleavinger; as well as his mother in law Penny Roybal, sister in law, Kristie Nelson (Erick); nephews, Payton Roybal and Rylee Nelson; great niece, Hagen McCray Roybal; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon with Rick Bloodworth, minister of the Church of Christ in Happy, officiating.
Graveside services will follow at 3:00 P.M. at Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon, Oklahoma with Rev. Steve Lehew, of Altus, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in the family's name to Bunch - Roberts Funeral Home, PO Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73942 or to Brooks Funeral Directors, 1702 5th Ave, Canyon, TX 79015, or the family asks that you make a donation to BSA Hospice of the Southwest, 5211 SW 9th Ave Ste. 100, Amarillo, TX 79106 or to a local charity of your choice in Travis' name.
