Obituary

George Thomas "Tom" Diller, 77, a lifelong Sherman County resident passed to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at the BSA Hospital in Amarillo, Texas.

The son of Charles Louis and Catherine Margaret (Husmann) Diller, Tom was born July 29, 1947, in Dodge City, Kansas. He graduated from Texhoma High School with the Class of 1966. Tom married the love of his life, Sherry Smith, on August 1, 1987, in Stratford, Texas and he also gained three daughters that day.

Tom spent his life farming the land on which he was raised near Gruver, Texas. He was the last Husmann descendant to live on the property that has been in the family for over a century. He was an active member of The American Ag Movement in the late '70s.

Tom was a faithful servant of the Lord and regularly attended Sunday Mass at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Stratford, Texas, where he was the last surviving charter member.

Tom's legacy is one of honesty, integrity, humility, compassion, resilience and love for his Lord, family and farm. He was very proud of his children. He especially loved to brag about his grandchildren and felt blessed to meet his first great-grandchild Atlas Mason this year.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister, Mary Agnes Diller and his mother-in-law, Pauline Thrasher.

Survivors include his wife, Sherry Diller of Gruver; his father-in-law, Clarence Thrasher of Texhoma, TX; his three daughters: Tobi and Eric Cullop of Decatur, TX, Codi and Lee Mason of Sublette, KS and Andi and Andy Ebersole of Cheyenne, OK; his eight grandchildren: Parker Cullop, Logan Cullop, Colby Perez and fiancé Shelby Seabourn, Cailby Perez, Keaton Mason, Korbin Mason and fiancé Kathy Friesen, Chase Ebersole, Amy Ebersole; and one great-grandson, Atlas Mason.
