Gerald Thomas Bollinger, 89, longtime Hooker resident, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at the Morton County Senior Living Center in Elkhart, Kansas.
The son of Leslie Glenn and Ruth Sarah (McGuire) Bollinger, he was born December 11, 1930 in Liberal, Kansas. Tom attended school in Hooker and was a member of Community Fellowship of Christians in Lake George, Colorado.
Tom and Naomi Rae Herndon were united in marriage on September 7, 1948 in Perryton, Texas. Tom retired as Foreman with Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America. Following retirement Tom and Naomi moved to Florissant, Colorado, until failing health led them to move to Elkhart, Kansas to be near their daughter.
Survivors include his wife, Naomi of Elkhart, Kansas, two daughters, Debra Jean Nevins of Richland Hills, Texas, and Leta Karen Scott and husband, Jerry of Elkhart; three grandchildren, Haley Strawhecker (Trevor), Chad Nevins, and Jared Scott (Kelli); eleven great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Shawn Thomas Crawford; brother, Harold Bollinger; and son-in-law, Dr. Rick Nevins.
The family request that memorials in Tom's name be made to the charity of their choice. Memorials will be accepted at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, Oklahoma 73942.
A family memorial service will be held at a later date near their cabin home in Colorado.
