Timothy Grant Landess, 53, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 22, 1972, in Guymon, Oklahoma, the only son of Stan and Carolyn (Buxton) Landess.

Timothy is survived by his sister, Stephanie Landess Thurston of Rhome, Texas; and his sister Kimberly Landess Noonan and her husband, Michael Noonan, of North Haven, Connecticut. He was a devoted father to Tyler Landess of Norman, Oklahoma, and Thomas Landess and his wife Skylar Landess of White Deer, Texas. He was a proud grandfather to Gatlin Landess. He is also survived by three nephews, Adam Thurston, Joshua Thurston, and Justin Thurston, all of Rhome, Texas, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins who cherished him deeply.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Stan and Carolyn Landess.

Timothy graduated from Guymon High School in 1990 and went on to attend Oklahoma Panhandle State University, where he earned a degree in Journalism. He later entered the CLEET Police Academy, beginning a distinguished career in law enforcement as a police officer in Texhoma, Oklahoma. He went on to serve as an agent with the District One Task Force and was later assigned to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Timothy retired from the DEA in 2012 and was honored as Agent of the Year for the State of Oklahoma in 2004.

In addition to his law enforcement career, Timothy was passionate about education. He served as an adjunct faculty member at Oklahoma Panhandle State University, teaching Criminal Investigations I & II for the COPS Program. He also faithfully served as a leader at the First Presbyterian Church in Guymon, Oklahoma, from 2010 to 2016.

At the time of his passing, he was teaching Principles of Law and Law Enforcement Safety at Timber Creek High School in Keller, Texas, where he was known for his dedication to students and his heart for mentoring young people. Timothy firmly believed teaching and mentoring were his God-given calling.

Outside of his professional life, Timothy was a gifted photographer, capturing the beauty of nature throughout the 48 continental United States. He was an avid traveler who loved adventure, exploration, and documenting the world through his lens. He was also a talented writer and storyteller, possessing a powerful way with words that moved and inspired others. Timothy was best known for his quick wit, infectious humor, and ability to make people laugh.

Above all else, Timothy loved the Lord. He boldly proclaimed his faith throughout his life, loving God with all his heart, mind, and soul. His faith guided every aspect of his life, and his legacy of service, compassion, humor, and devotion will live on in all who knew him.

A celebration of Tim's life will be held Saturday morning, April 11th at 10:00 a.m. at the Guymon First Presbyterian Church with Todd Singleterry and Mike Boring officiating.
