Michael Taos Cribbs, 71, longtime Guymon resident, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2026 at Wheatridge Park Care Center in Liberal, Kansas.

The son of Derl Dean and Mary Alice (Taylor) Cribbs, he was born January 5, 1955 in Amarillo, Texas.  The Cribbs family moved to Guymon when Taos was four years of age.  He attended school in Guymon and Eastern New Mexico College in Portales, New Mexico.  Taos was honored as Little Britches World Champion in 1969. He has been active with the Rodeo Cowboys Association since the age of sixteen.

Taos and Sherri Bauer were united in marriage on April 26, 1985 in Dumas, Texas.  Taos was a professional cowboy and stockman.

He is preceded in death by his father, Derl Dean Cribbs.

Survivors include his wife, Sherri of the home; two sons: Tahl Cribbs and Lynisa of Guymon and Tel Cribbs and Monica of Garden City, Kansas. His mother, Mary Cribbs of Amarillo, Texas; brother, Tye Cribbs of Amarillo; sister, Shelly Tru McLeod and husband, Mac also of Amarillo, and three grandchildren: Alexa, Brantley and Major.
