Steven Ray Coen, 49, died Friday morning, May 1, 2026, the result of a house fire in Goodwell, Oklahoma

The son of Edra (Coen) Garcia, he was born February 22, 1977 in Guymon.  Steven graduated from Elkhart High School with the Class of 1995, he then attended Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Goodwell, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 2005.  Steven was a maintenance technician with Johnston Rentals, he had served with the EMS for ten years.

Steven had earned the rank of Eagle Scout, he was a member of the Order of the Arrow, Scouting's National Honor Society, he was an active member of the Guymon First Christian Church and volunteer of Goodwell Boy Scouts.  Steve was an avid trumpet player through high school and college, he participated in several competitions and orchestral groups over the years.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Edra Garcia, and special uncle, Daren Coen.

Survivors include five children: Aleigha Coen, Clayton Coen, Jayden Coen, Tyler Coen all of Goodwell, and Jessica Coen of Edmond, Oklahoma, the children's mother, Hope Knowles and husband, Brian of Goodwell, two brothers, Robert and Ronald Rich both of Elkhart, Kansas, his in-laws, Robert & Cheryl Coffman of Guymon, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A Celebration of Steve's life will be Saturday morning, May 30, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Guymon with Pastor Larry Watson officiating.

The Coen family  request memorials be given to Loaves & Fishes or Texas County EMS.  Memorials will be accepted at Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, Oklahoma 73942.
