Obituary

Steve Lofties, 64, of Guymon went to be with his Lord unexpectedly on Monday, September 14, 2015.

The son of Lloyd Luther and Christine Marie (Dennison) Lofties, Stephen Lloyd Lofties was born November 12, 1950 in Salina, Kansas. Steve graduated from the Balko High School with the Class of 1970. He then attended Panhandle State University in Goodwell.

Steve and Timmy Lou Johnson were united in marriage on March 29, 1974 at the First Assembly of God in Guymon. Steve had been a resident of Guymon since the early 1970's. He owned and operated STL Carpet, where he was well known and respected for his hard work. Steve was also an active member of the First Assembly of God, where he had served as a Sunday school teacher, Trustee, sang with the Praise & Worship team, ran the sound, helped with maintenance or wherever there might be a need. When not devoting his time to his family, work and church, Steve loved spending time on his dune buggy, jeeping or looking at old cars.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Christine Lofties.

Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Timmy Lofties; his precious daughter, Lyndsay Williams and husband, Tanner and his adored grandsons: Karter and Landen Williams all of Guymon. Steve is also survived by one sister, Pam Taylor and one nephew, Tyler Taylor of Port Aransas, Texas; his mother-in-law, Mary Lou Johnson of Guymon; three brothers-in-law: Donald Johnson and wife, Deanna of Guymon, Tony Johnson of Weaverville, North Carolina, and Ted Johnson and wife, Sandy of Colorado City, Colorado; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends – he was loved by everyone.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon, September 17th at 2:00 p.m. at the First Assembly of God in Guymon with Pastor Billy Martin officiating. Interment will follow at the Hartville Cemetery, southeast of Hardesty. Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.

The family request that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the First Assembly of God. Memorials will be accepted at the church office or in care of the funeral home, PO Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73942.
