Socorro Lozoya Hierro, 87, of Guymon passed away Thursday evening, July 22, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

The son of Ladislao Hierro Loya and Maria Lozoya Vallez, he was born April 4, 1934 in Coyame, Chihuahua, Mexico.

He was united in marriage to Eva Sansabas on August 19, 1958 in Chihuahua, Mexico.  Socorro worked in the farming and ranching industry.  He was an active member, usher and greeter at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church , member of the Knights of Columbus, and was a cursillista..  Socorro was always known to have a smile and hug for everyone he encountered.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Agustin and Jose Hierro and one sister, Elvira Hierro.

Survivors include his loving wife, Eva Hierro of the home; six children:  Norma Ballard of Illinois, Oscar Hierro of Fort Morgan, Colorado, Victor Hierro and wife, Jonna of Longmont, Colorado, Socorro Hierro, Jr. of Lexington, Kentucky, Nora Peña and husband, Alejo of Guymon and Teresa Bowers and husband, Monte of Guymon; ten grandchildren: Bryan, Natalie, Keelan, Aubrey, Paiton, Taylor, Evan, Noah, Lindsey, and Alex; seven great-grandchildren: Alex, Olivia, Liliana, Helena, Lexi, Ryder and Kylin; three sisters: Blasa Gallegos, Manuela Hierro and Rosario Chavez; sister-in-law, Juanita Hierro of Guymon and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday July 25th between the hours of 2:00 and 8:00 p.m., and Monday July 26th between the hours of 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home.  Rosary will be recited Monday evening, July 26 ^th at 7:00 p.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church.  Funeral Mass will be conducted Tuesday afternoon, July 27 ^th at 1:00 p.m. also at St. Peter's with Father Raul Sanchez, Celebrant.  Interment will follow at the Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon.  Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
