Sergio G. Montes, 39, of Guymon passed away Friday, June 5, 2020 at his home following a two year battle with cancer.

The son of Jesus Montes and Herlinda Vallejo Lozano, he was born September 27, 1980 in Delicias, Chihuahua, Mexico. Sergio moved to Guymon from Delicias in 2004.

Sergio and Lilly Zepeda were married on February 6, 2009 in Guymon. He was a member of the Roca de Salvacion Church and worked for Circle H Construction. Sergio enjoyed watching football and cheering for the Steelers or watching soccer, where he cheered for the Chivas. He also enjoyed working on cars and going to the movies.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Survivors include his wife, Lilly Zepeda; his son, Sergio H. Montes and his daughter, Michelle Montes, all of Guymon; his father, Jesus Montes and two sisters: Maria Veronica Montes and Alondra Montes all of Delicias, Mexico; along with his uncles: Jorge and Martin Montes and aunt, Bertha Montes.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday morning, June 8th at 11:00 a.m. at the Roca de Salvacion, 513 NE 18th St. in Guymon with Pastor Eleacer Galindo officiating. Interment will follow at the Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon. Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
