Obituary

Selma Katherine (Winter) Witzke, born October 1, 1926 in Hooker, OK, passed away on September 3, 2018, at the age of 91.

Selma and Elmer Witzke were married on October 20, 1946. In the early 1950's they moved from Hooker to Oklahoma City. She worked for many years at Mutual Federal Savings and Loan Association. In the 1970's, she and Elmer purchased the Winters Motel in Hooker and operated it for several years before returning to Oklahoma City. They were married for 39 years until his death in 1985.

Selma was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who was always available when family or friends were in need. She was also an accomplished business woman and musician.

Selma is survived by her daughter, Lynda Arnold, and husband, Dale, Oklahoma, City, OK; her grandchildren, Greg Cleaver, Irving, TX and Trisha Cleaver, Oklahoma City, OK; and "adopted" family members, Bill Vincent and his wife, Susan, Sara Vincent and daughter, Kyla, Brad Vincent and son, Dane, and Abbi Wilson. Also surviving are two sisters, Vera Neff and husband, Dean, of Colorado Springs, CO, and Anita Uphaus and husband, John, of Georgetown, TX, sister-in-law Evelyn Witzke of Hooker, OK and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; parents, David and Johanna Winter; an infant granddaughter, Jenifer Kay Cleaver; sisters, Mary Spencer and Martha Witzke; and brother, Leo Winters.

Viewing will be from 5:00 - 7:00 pm on Thursday, Sept. 6th at Buchanan Funeral Home and a celebration of her life and faith will be at Episcopal Church of the Resurrection, 13112 North Rockwell Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK 73142 at 11:00 am on Friday, Sept. 7th. Graveside services will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, Sept. 8th at the Hooker Cemetery in Hooker, OK under the care of the Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon, OK.
