Ruth Peacock, 90, passed away on October 13, 2022, and gained her eternal reward.

Donna Ruth Harmon Peacock was born on December 16, 1931, in Burr Oak, Kansas, to Rex and Eva Harmon. As the ornery, independent only child to a First Christian preacher and wife, the piano player, Ruth grew up with a firm foundation in the faith.

After high school, Ruth attended Kansas State University, playing first chair coronet in the marching band. There, she met the dashing boy with a dimple, Ray Peacock. They married on December 28, 1951, before Ray's stint in the Korean War.

Ruth and Ray's love story grew as they added two bouncing boys, Mike and Bruce, to their young family. Ruth, being mindful of tight times, helped their family through stretched meat and homemade coats, providing a few laughs about the economical solutions several years down the road. Ray and Ruth made their home available for Mike and Bruce's friends, often hosting the church youth group.

Ruth was an exceptional grandma to her grandkids. On Tuesdays, she and Ray would pick up their granddaughters for ice cream, card games, gardening, and more. Ruth also held "Grandma Peacock's School of Etiquette and Oddities," ensuring her grandkids were well-rounded with the important life skills such as signing your name with your toes, walking across the room while balancing a book, spitting watermelon seeds, pastel sketching, knitting, and setting up a formal dinner table.

Ruth was a gifted musician, artist, and baker. She especially enjoyed gifting homemade loaves of bread or cinnamon rolls to friends and family.  Most importantly, Ruth valued her relationship with her Lord and her God and knew her spirit would get to worship her Creator eternally in Heaven.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents Rex and Eva Harmon, her loving husband Ray Peacock, and a special sister-in-law Jean Siebenalor.

Survivors include her son Mike Peacock and wife Ann; son Bruce Peacock and wife Carol; grandchildren Elizabeth Brown and husband Tanner; Alison Marci and husband Tim; Becca Grimes and husband Jared; Max Peacock and wife Claire; and Grant Peacock; great-grandchildren Madelyn and Jonathan Marci; Harper Grimes; Wade Peacock.

The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Sunday, October 16 ^th from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be conducted Monday morning, October 17 ^th at 10:00 a.m. at the Bunch – Roberts Chapel with Jordan Arnold, minister of the Hooker Church of Christ officiating.  Interment will follow at the Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon.
