Obituary

Robert (Bob) Petree, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Louis & Peaches Owen Hospital in Tyler, TX after an extended illness.

Bob was a devoted husband, father, grand-father and friend of so many. He was born in West Frankfort, IL to Howard and Betty Petree. Bob graduated from Liberal, KS, and attended the University of Arkansas.

In 1967, he married his wife, Colleen McCubbin Petree. Together, they had two amazing sons, Terry and Brian, of whom Bob was so very proud. Bob started his career with Phillips Petroleum Company at the Sher-Han Plant in Guymon, OK, which then took him to Darrouzett, TX, Borger, TX, Houston, TX, Brighton, MI, Sheboygan, WI, Bartlesville, OK, Los Angeles, CA, Sacramento, CA, Austin, TX, and Atlanta, GA. While living in Bartlesville, Bob coached many young boys in football, wrestling, and baseball. Many of them have stated that they have learned a valuable life lesson about goals, dedication, work and sacrifice along with the skills of the game. Bob retired in 1999 from BP Amoco, Atlanta, GA, and began a new career with Maxwell Supply, Tulsa, OK. In 2010, he retired again and moved to their retirement home on Lake Fork, TX. It didn't take long for him to get bored, and he began working part time for Linda Hill Crop Insurance as a proofer, and also as a consultant for Hane's Geo. out of North Carolina.

Bob had a special love for his grandkids, his nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and God-children. He loved keeping up with their lives and achievements. In fact so much, in 2000 he started an annual family reunion so all the cousins could be together and make many memories that will last them a lifetime. Bob also loved fishing, and he and his brothers-in-law, Frankie and Richard took many fishing trips and they always told the stories at our reunions and it seems to the family, they got bigger and more colorful every year.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Howard & Betty Threewitt Petree, his sisters, Janice Petree Napier, Donna Jean Petree, his brothers Ricky Dean Petree, Richard Anthony Petree, his mother and father-in-law, Blanche & Dave McCubbin, and his brothers-in-law, Bobby McCubbin, and Roxie Johns.
