Robert Ross May, 65, lifelong Guymon resident passed away Saturday September 17, 2022 at the Memorial Hospital of Texas County following a brief battle with cancer.

The son of Robert Ray and Helen Audraine (Nelson) May, he was born June 25, 1957 in Farmington, New Mexico.  Robert attended school in Guymon and worked for twenty five years as a rig operator in the oil field, receiving numerous awards.

He was married to Darlene Jarvis on April 23, 1981 in Guymon and was a member of the Assembly of God Church.  Robert loved being a mechanic and driving truck.  He was a boxer and became a golden glove boxer by the age of 20.

He is preceded in death by his parents Robert May & Helen Nelson, his son, Jason Erick May, brother Cecil Leniger and niece, Brandy Leniger.

Survivors include his loving wife of forty one years, Darlene May of the home, son, Aaron May and wife, Elena of Guymon, daughter, Chasidee Larson of Guymon, five grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.  Survivors also include ten brothers and sisters: Evelyn Miller, Marsue Ford, Vicki Shimanek, Cora Miller, Irene Fields, Ray Frederick, Elmer Frederick, Kelly Frederick, Joe Thomas and Harold Leniger, a special aunt, Joyce Ballard and special cousin, Linda Odle.

Graveside inurnment will be Friday morning, September 30 ^th at 11:00 a.m. at the Forgan Cemetery in Forgan, Oklahoma.  Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
