Richard Moses Romero, 56, of rural Goodwell, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday October 8, 2026 from injuries sustained by a truck collision.

Richard was born on January 20, 1970, in Spearman, Texas to Thomas and Betty Jane (Gallegos) Romero. He grew up in Clayton, New Mexico, where he attended school. In 2018 he moved from Clayton to the Goodwell and Guymon, Oklahoma area. He has been employed with Shores Auction Service for the past eight years.

Richard’s life was marked by the connections he shared with his family and the people who were part of his journey. Though his passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, his memory will continue to live on through his daughter, siblings, extended family, and all those whose lives he touched.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Joseph Romero, a sister, Josephine Romero, brother, Michael A. Romero, and nephew, Thomas E. Romero, Jr.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, RikkiAnn Romero of Canon City, Colorado, his four sisters, Mary Frances Hurtado and Barbara Romero of Clayton, New Mexico, Ruby Ortiz and husband Beto of Liberal, Kansas and Julia Bourg and husband, Chad of Houma, Louisiana. He is also survived by his five brothers, Thomas Romero and wife, Elizabeth of Texhoma, Oklahoma, Paul Romero of Fritch, Texas, Greg Romero of Clayton, New Mexico, Mark Gallegos of Liberal, Kansas and Robert Gallegos of Carlsbad, New Mexico. He leaves behind many extended family member’s and loved ones who will remember him with love.
