Richard Dwight Butler, 76 of Texhoma formerly of Guymon, passed away Friday morning, May 12th, 2017 at the Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo, Texas.
The son of Berman Elroy Butler and Mary Jane (Kibby) Butler, he was born August 1, 1940 in Englewood, Kansas. Richard attended school in Englewood.
He has been a resident of the panhandle since 2005. Mr. Butler retired as an engineer from the Santa Fe Railroad Company and attended Texhoma First Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his father, Berman Butler; one of his twin sons, Staff Sergeant Kevin Wayne Butler; his step father, Jackson Shaffer and his mother, Mary Kibby Butler Shaffer.
Survivors include one remaining twin son, Mark Duane Butler of Dallas, Texas; daughter-in-law, Michele Butler of Dallas, TX; daughter, Lynn Butler of Keller, Texas; his only granddaughter, Chloe Elizabeth Butler of Dallas, Texas and special friend, Peggy Coffman of Guymon.
Memorial services will be conducted Saturday morning, May 20th at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Texhoma with Rev. Darren Carpenter officiating.
Memorials in memory of Mr. Butler may be given to the Texhoma First Baptist Church. Memorials will be accepted at the church office or the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, Oklahoma 73942.
