Rex Layne Winters, 59, of Guymon passed away Thursday morning, July 25, 2019 at the Memorial Hospital of Texas County.

The son of Verl Eugene and Ellen Jeanette (Plank) Winters, he was born August 14, 1959 in Amarillo, Texas. The Winters family moved to Guymon from Arnett, Oklahoma in 1981.

Rex graduated from Arnett High School with the Class of 1978. He then attended Okmulgee Technical School in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Rex owned and operated Rex's Appliance and Repair in Guymon for several years. He was a member of the New Life Christian Center.

He was preceded in death by his father, Verl Winters and brother, Dennis Winters.

Survivors include his mother, Ellen Winters of Plano, Texas; two brothers, Larry Winters and wife, Belinda of Amarillo, Texas and Mark Burkhall and wife, Sheila of Plano, Texas; a very special friend, Nancy Jones of Guymon; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, July 27th at 2:00 p.m. at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home with Rev. John Henry, pastor of New Life Christian Center officiating. Family inurnment will be at a later date.

Memorials in memory of Rex may be given to Oklahoma Panhandle Partners. Memorials will be accepted at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, Oklahoma 73942.
