Raymond Montoya Sandoval, 78, longtime Guymon resident, passed away Sunday afternoon, August 1, 2021 at the Heritage Community Manor.

The son of Pablita "Pauline" (Montoya) and Antonio Gallegos "Tony" Sandoval, Raymond was born January 7, 1943 in Roy, New Mexico.  The family moved to Guymon in 1957.  Raymond graduated from Guymon High School with the Class of 1961.

Raymond then proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam, receiving his honorable discharge on November 1, 1966.

Raymond began working for the City of Guymon in 1967, retiring in March 1998 following 31 years of service.  He was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church and the V.F.W.  Raymond loved playing dominos, Bingo and visiting his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Tony and Pauline Sandoval and two brothers and five sisters: Lupe Sandoval, Tony Sandoval, Fannye Sullivan, Corina Vasquez, Stella Tramel, Dorothy Hobson and Sofia Sandoval.

Survivors include four siblings: Jean Brewer of Guymon, LeRoy Sandoval of Guymon, Penny Roybal of Guymon and Dee Jasper of Logan, New Mexico.  Raymond is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews and extended family, including his Godchildren: Minnie Sides, Vanessa Howard and David Tramel.

Viewing will be held Sunday, August 8th from 2:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.  Rosary will be recited Sunday, August 8 ^th at 7:30 p.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church.  Funeral Mass will be held Monday, August 9 ^th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church with Father Jerome Krug, celebrant.  Interment with military honors will follow at the Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon.  Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.  Friends can sign the online guestbook and leave condolences at www.bunchroberts.com .
