Raevella "Rae" (Larson) Hill Pyle, 92, longtime Guymon resident passed away Saturday evening, June 25, 2022 in Amarillo, Texas.
The daughter of Leonard Emmitt and Annie Alberta (McCarley) Larson, Raevella was born July 6, 1929 in Brownfield, Texas. She was raised in Walters, Oklahoma where she attended school and graduated in 1947. She then went to Amarillo for one year before moving to Guymon.
Rae and James Lenard Hill were united in marriage on May 7, 1949 in Clayton, NM. They raised their five children in Guymon and were members of the Lutheran Church. Lenard preceded her in death on October 20, 1983.
Rae and Joe Pyle were united in marriage on April 9, 1994 in Covington, OK. He preceded her in death on January 23, 2016. Rae was a devoted homemaker as well as running the local U-Haul business for 50 years. She was an active member of the No Man's Land Senior Citizen's Center.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, L.E. Larson, Jr. and Arley Dean and Barbara Larson; one sister, Betty and Leon Glasgow; and son-in-law, Tony Shaddy.
Survivors include her five children: Karen Berkenbile and husband, Dean of Hunter, OK, Sandra Mulder and husband, Don of Amarillo, Texas, James L. Hill, Jr. of Guymon, Mary Ann Shaddy of Guymon and Marcia Brown of Dodge City, KS; her honorary son, Michael Ray "Mike" Ritter of Guymon; eight grandchildren: Laura (Mike) Mittasch, Dusty (Rhonda) Berkenbile, Kelsey Berkenbile, Haley (David) Mendez, Karlie Blue (J.R. Nunnery), Devery Shaddy (Derek Pistorius), JaCobi Brown (Derek Robbins) and Jarret (Chelbee) Brown; 23 great grandchildren; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Richard and Linda Hill of Guymon and Ruth Pierce of Bartlesville, OK; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family.
The family will greet friends at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home on Friday evening, July 1 st from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, July 2 nd at 2:00 p.m. at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Guymon. Interment will follow at the Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon.
