Obituary

Paulagean Gertrude (Wadley) King, 92, lifelong Goodwell area resident passed away Tuesday afternoon, December 15, 2020 at the Memorial Hospital of Texas County in Guymon.

The daughter of Daniel Thomas and Ada Gertrude (Jones) Wadley, she was born January 26, 1928 in Texhoma, Oklahoma.  Paulagean graduated from Stratford, Texas High School with the Class of 1945.  She then attended Panhandle State University, earning her bachelor's degree in education.

Paulagean and George Wilfred King were united in marriage on June 27, 1948 in Kerrick, Texas.  They made their home in Goodwell, where they were active members of the community.  Paulagean was a founding member of Goodwell Hilltoppers and was also a member of the OPSU Alumni Association, Order of the Eastern Star and the Goodwell Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over 57 years, George Wilfred King on January 17, 2006, her parents and four brothers:  Woodson Wadley and three infants.

Survivors include her  four children:  Danese Lindsay of Kingman, Kansas, Chris King of Montezuma, Colorado, Marlese Methvin of Goodwell, and Keith King and wife, Tami of Stratford, Texas; six grandchildren:  Daniel and David Claycomb, Brooke Tuttle, Jennifer Hangartner, Jessica Audrain and Josh King; twelve great grandchildren: Caleb, Catherine, Jacob, Jasmine, Shaylee, Reaghan, Cody-Paige, Sam, Kingston, Kennedy, Kamdyn and Tate with another expected soon (Slayde); one great-great granddaughter, Lilly; and several nieces, nephews and extended family.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, December 18 th from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, December 19 th at 3:00 p.m. at the Goodwell Baptist Church with Pastor Zane Newton officiating.  Interment will follow at the Goodwell Cemetery.  Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
