Nolan Bowers, 82, of Guymon passed away Friday morning, April 16, 2021 at the Memorial Hospital of Texas County.

The son of Chalmer C. and Doris L. (Short) Bowers, Nolan Asa Bowers was born January 13, 1939 in Wyandotte, Oklahoma.  He was raised and attended school in Wyandotte, graduating with the Class of 1957.

Nolan and Patricia Ann Parker were united in marriage on December 28, 1958 in Miami, Oklahoma.  Nolan worked for the City of Guymon in various positions, retiring as Public Works Director in 2000 after 38 years of service.  After retirement, Nolan enjoyed camping and visiting his brothers and sisters – he always looked forward to seeing his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Curtis Bowers; three sisters: Norma King, Cletus Garrow and Janiece Tuter;  daughter, Merna Bowers and daughter-in-law, Waynette Bowers.

Survivors include his wife, Patty Bowers of the home; seven children:  Curtis Bowers of Rolla, KS, Tracy Bowers and wife, Melissa of Guymon, Kelly Bowers of Guymon, Marla Mathis and husband, Kenneth of Goodwell, Doyle Bowers and wife, Sally of Guymon, Troy Bowers and wife, Danea of Alvarado, TX, and Monte Bowers and wife, Teresa of Guymon; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; one brother, Coy Bowers and wife, Mary Jane of Wyandotte and two sisters: Nell and husband, Ron Dent of Bentonville, AR and Claudine Snell of Harrison, AR.

The family will greet friends on Monday evening, April 19 ^th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home.  Graveside funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon, April 20 ^th at 2:00 p.m. at the Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon.  Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home.
