Nestor Rivera, age 80, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 30th, 2019 at his home in Guymon, OK.

From his birth on February 25th, 1938 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico to his passing in Guymon, Nestor loved to care for his family, farm, and to be outdoors riding his lawn-mower. He was a huge fan of boxing and spending time watching matches with his kids. Nestor always worked hard and encouraged his children and grandchildren to succeed in whatever adventure they were on; never leaving them wanting anything. He was known to greet everyone with a friendly "Howdy!" and spending quality time with his little chihuahua pup, Frito. He spent his whole life farming in places across the nation from California to Kansas to Oklahoma.

Left to honor Nestor and remember his love are his wife Raquel Rivera and their two children, Nestor Rivera Jr and Sabrina (Rivera) Sloan and husband LaRue Sloan. Also his children: Carmen Rivera-Koehler and husband Ron, David Rivera and his wife Rachel, Jasmin Rios and husband Hugo, Jessica Rivera and husband Manuel Estrada; ten grandchildren: Shanise, Alyra, Asher, Blake, Cielo, Javan, Manuel Jr, Citlaly, Matthew, and Matias; three brothers: Alfred Rivera, Pastor Rivera, Alfonso Rivera and one sister, Alvina Rivera.

Nestor was preceded in death by his parents: Fransisco Rivera and Carmen Mendez; one sister, Ofelia Rivera; and one child Ernie Rivera. Nestor will be remembered as a strong and hard-working husband, father, and grandpa.

Rosary services will be Friday evening, February 1st at 7:00 p.m. at the St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Guymon.

Funeral Mass will be Saturday morning, February 2nd at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church with Father John Paul Lewis, celebrant. Interment will follow in the Texhoma Cemetery. Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.

Memorials in memory of Nestor may be given to the St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. Memorials will be accepted at Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, Oklahoma 73942.
