Namona Helms, 88, of Goodwell, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday evening, May 9, 2018 at the Memorial Hospital of Texas County.
The daughter of W.C. and Elizabeth (Saathoff) Miller, she was born January 17, 1930 near Gage, Oklahoma. She graduated from Hardesty High School with the Class of 1949.
Namona was united in marriage to H.R. Helms on April 15, 1951 in Hardesty. She was a homemaker, gardener, and member of the Panhandle Bible Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, H.R. Helms on April 29, 1997; daughter, Priscilla Helms, sister, Roberta Miller and two brothers, Gale and Elson Miller.
Survivors include four children: Hue Helms and wife, Anita of Goodwell, Howard Helms and wife, Debra of Austin, Texas, Linda Servatius and husband, Bill of Clovis, New Mexico and Wanda Royce and husband, Michael of Lexington, Texas. Survivors also include 12 grandchildren: Ben Helms, Kayla Helms, Rachel Scott, Matthew Royce, Kamber Jackson, Leslie Singleton, Carol Servatius, Jerod Servatius, Michael Do, Aimee Do, Dustin Do, and Camille Helms Souza; 15 great grandchildren and two sisters, Wilburta Bollinger and husband, Harold of Hardesty and Emburta Stallard and husband, Larry of Gate City, Virginia.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday morning, May 14th at 10:00 a.m. at the Panhandle Bible Center with Jim Jamieson and Rev. Harold Bollinger officiating. Interment will follow in the Hartville Cemetery, east of Hardesty. Services are under the direction of the Bunch – Robert Funeral Home of Guymon.
The Helms family will greet friends Sunday evening, May 13th between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials in memory of Mrs. Helms may be given to the Panhandle Bible Center.
