Nadine Lavada Huddleston, 87, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at The Ware Memorial Care Facility in Amarillo, Texas after a 6-year battle with Alzheimer's.

The daughter of F.C. Shubert and Velma (Norris) Shubert, she was born on June 29, 1932.

Nadine was united in marriage to Roy Joe Huddleston in Clayton, New Mexico on November 30, 1948. Roy Joe and Nadine were life long residents of the Eva Community, where they lived on the Huddleston homestead. Nadine worked alongside Roy Joe in all aspects of farming and ranching. She could be found working cattle, driving a tractor or truck, or taking dinner to the field.

Nadine was a member of the James Church of God, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School classes, and worked in summer Bible School programs. She and Roy Joe were also active in the youth ministry. When the James Church of God discontinued services, she attended Elkhart Church of God until moving to Amarillo in 2014. For many years, Nadine and Roy Joe watched their children and family members participate in Texhoma School band, choir, sports, FFA, and a host of other school activities. Nadine's passion was gardening, and she spent many hours in her yard tending to her beautiful roses, plants and flowers beds.

Nadine is survived by her four children, Cathy Evans of Lago Vista, Texas; Donnie Huddleston and wife Valerie who live on the Huddleston homestead in the Eva Community; Shirley Clark and husband, Sonny, of Amarillo, Texas; and Sandi Dunstan and husband, David, of Amarillo, Texas; and sister, Charlene Cornelsen, of Texhoma, Oklahoma. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Her parents, F.C. and Velma Shubert; her husband, Roy Joe Huddleston; a granddaughter, Misty Evans Inman; and a stepson, Bill Huddleston, preceded Nadine in death.

Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, a private burial will be held at the Texhoma Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be given to BSA Hospice of the Southwest in Amarillo, Texas or the Alzheimer's Association.
