Obituary

Michael W. "Mike" Berry, 72, lifelong Texhoma resident, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday evening, August 3, 2018 at the Moore County Hospital in Dumas, Texas.

The son of Frank M. and Glenda Ruth (Nelson) Berry Jr., Mike was born November 24, 1945 in Amarillo, Texas.

Mike was united in marriage to Julie Gray on October 15, 1966 in Stratford, Texas.  She preceded him in death on February 26, 2011.

Mike attended Texhoma schools, graduating with the Class of 1964.  He graduated from Oklahoma Panhandle State University with a BS in Animal Science.  Mike was engaged in farming and ranching.  He was an active member, deacon and treasurer of the Texhoma First Baptist Church.  He served on many boards but was most proud of serving on the Texhoma Wheat Growers Board and the Texas County Junior Livestock Board.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Julie Berry, his parents, Frank and Glenda Berry, brother, Jim Berry and nephew, Wade Berry.

Survivors include his two children: Ty Berry and wife, Mandi of Texhoma and Jo Hinds and husband, Chad of Stratford, Texas, grandchildren: Lyndi Meier and husband, L.D, Layton Berry,  Lexi Berry, Ramy Anderson and wife, MaKenze, and Cole Hinds, two great grandchildren, Korbyn and Koyt Meier.  Survivors also include a sister-in-law, Linda Berry, and two brothers, Nelson Berry and wife, Fran and Bob Berry and wife, Tonja all of Texhoma.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, August 7 th at 2:00 p.m. at the Texhoma First Baptist Church with Pastor Darren Carpenter, Rev. Winston Curtis and Rev. David Moore officiating.  Interment will follow in the Texhoma Cemetery.  Services are under the care of the Bunch - Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.

Memorials in memory of Mike may be given to Texhoma Snack Pak 4 Kids or the Texhoma Angel Tree.  Memorials will be accepted at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon Oklahoma 73942.
