Mattie L. Grove, 80, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at the Colonial Manor Nursing Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The daughter of Henry F. and Mary Opal (Dorton) Meade, Mattie Lou was born October 2, 1939 in Nicklesville, Virginia.

Mattie was united in marriage to Willis Gene Grove on May 4, 1957 in Lebanon, Virginia. Mattie and Gene made their home SE of Guymon until they moved to town in 1978. Mattie had worked in the nurseries for Trinity Baptist, First Baptist and Living Word. She was a past member of the Apostolic Faith Center and later the Assembly of God.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Grove on September 15, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Linda K. (Cox) Grove; son-in-law, Cliff Boomhower; infant grandson, Daniel Grove; two brothers: Kyle Douglas and Thomas Henry Meade; and a nephew, Scottie Lynn Meade.

Survivors include her three children: Harold Grove of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Brenda Boomhower of Orange Park, Florida and Donnie Grove of Guymon; two granddaughters: Jennifer Grove and Kara Boomhower; one grandson, Joshua France; one sister, Darlis Bryant of Enka, North Carolina and one brother, Ronnie Meade of Johnson City, Tennessee; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted Friday morning, February 21st at 10:00 a.m. at the Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon with Rev. Odie Nunley officiating. Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
