Mary Stump, 80, longtime Texhoma, Texas resident passed away Saturday afternoon, April 24, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
The daughter of Rita (Garcia) and Cipriano Sandoval, Antonia Tonie "Mary" was born September 9, 1940 in Roy, New Mexico. Mary moved to Texhoma with her family in 1951, where she attended school.
Mary and Vernon Stump were united in marriage on July 23, 1964 in Guymon. He preceded her in death on December 1, 2001. Mary was well known for her cooking and baking, which she enjoyed doing. She also enjoyed crafts and sewing, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Rita and Cipriano Sandoval, son, Joe Stump; and two brothers, Robert Zamora and Herman Sandoval.
Survivors include four children: Margaret Ann Crowley and husband, Gary of Dighton, Kansas, Vernon Leon Stump and wife, Micky of Newton, Kansas, Elizabeth Weir of Texhoma, OK, and Rita Jean Raines and husband, John of Pampa, Texas along with her many special grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary is also survived by her siblings: Richard Sandoval of Vega, TX, Benji Sandoval of Amarillo, TX, Junior Sandoval of Guymon, Susie Jeffries of Stratford, TX, Mary Agnes Cordova of Tucumcari, NM, Luci Lauer of Texhoma, OK, Pat Hagelstein of Roswell, NM and Mary Emma Romero of Las Vegas, NM and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Rosary will be recited, Wednesday, April 28 th at 7:00 p.m. at the Bunch – Roberts Chapel, visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 p.m.. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday morning, April 29 th at 10:00 a.m at St. Peter's the Apostle Catholic Church with the Very Rev. Christopher Brashears, Celebrant. Interment will follow at the Texhoma Cemetery. Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
