Mary Magdlene (Mason) Jones, 97, lifelong Hardesty resident passed away Wednesday night, December 2, 2020 at the Heritage Community Manor in Guymon.

Mary was the youngest of nine children born to Richard Owen and Esther Magdalene (Hansen) Mason, she was born December 31, 1922 southeast of Hardesty.  Mary attended Camrick country school and then Hardesty High School.

Mary and R.C. "Whitey" Jones were united in marriage on January 22, 1940 in Guymon, Oklahoma.  They made their home near Hardesty, where they farmed and ranched.  In 1944 a son, Owen E. was born.  The Jones family was honored in 1978 as Texas County Farm Bureau Family of the Year.  She was a member of the Hardesty Apostolic Faith Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Whitey Jones on May 18, 1999; her parents; eight brothers and sisters: Leo Mason, Hazel DeBow, Margie Shorb, Russell Mason, Robert Mason, Eva Belle Mason, Dolly Mason and Richard "Debs" Mason; and daughter-in-law, Lorraine Jones.

Survivors include her son, Owen Jones and wife, Dodie of Cushing, Oklahoma; two grandchildren: Tricia Lynette Holt of Springfield, MO and Michael Allen Jones of Garden City, KS and several great grandchildren.  She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews that she loved so much, and they returned their love.

A private burial will be held at the Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon.  Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.

Memorials in memory of Mary can be given to a favorite charity of choice.  Memorials will be accepted at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, Oklahoma.
