Mary Lou Johnson, 96, of Guymon, Oklahoma passed away Friday evening January 28th, 2022. Mary Lou was a prayer warrior and loved the Lord and her family as well. She was a wonderful example of a Christian life and an inspiration to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many friends.

Mary Lou loved the Lord Jesus, her Savior, with all her heart and soul, and loved God's word. She had read through the Bible every year for many years. Mary Lou was born on November 30th, 1925 in Texas County, to Ennis and Edna Graves. She was a true child of the Great Depression and Dust-Bowl days. She attended the Camrick and later Hardesty schools and graduated from Hardesty high school in 1943. Mary Lou married Donald V. Johnson on August 16th, 1945. They were together for 32 years. Mary Lou was a life-long Christian and attended church at the Assembly of God and for the past forty years at the Victory Center in Guymon.

She was a loving wife and mother, but she had a special love and excelled as grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to travel and was able to have many grand adventures and family reunions with her brother and sisters over the past thirty years. Mary Lou was a wonderful home-maker and could patch a pair of jeans, knit you a pair of scuffs, or an afghan, and make you a chocolate sheet cake without a thought. She endured many trials and tribulations through life which was why, when we were going through a rough patch, she could smile a wise smile and say, "This too shall pass." Although she had that unique pioneer spirit, she also had the heart of a poet and composed many poems for family and friends.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sons (Petey and Stevie), a daughter (Marylin "Susie" Ferguson), son-in-law (Steve Lofties), two sisters and a brother-in-law (Imogene Geisler, Ruth & Earl Pruitt), and brother and sister-in-law (Robert & Betty Graves).

Mary Lou is survived by her children Timmy Lofties of Guymon, Donald and Deanna Johnson of Guymon, Tony Johnson of Weaverville, NC, and Ted and Sandy Johnson of Colorado City, CO. As well as 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 3 great great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Esther and Cecil Rice of El Reno, OK and brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Mary Ellen Graves of Oklahoma City, OK.

Visitation for Mary Lou will be at the Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home in Guymon, OK on Monday evening, January 31st between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday morning, February 1st at 10:00 a.m. at the Victory Center with Rev. Margaret Mendenhall, Eugene Like and Donald Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Hartville Cemetery, SE of Hardesty.
