Mary Elizabeth Gotcher Miller of St. Regis, Montana, age 89, passed away from natural causes while surrounded by her family on November 16, 2016, in Superior, Montana. Mary was born on August 21, 1927, in Drane, Texas to Alvin Lee and Mary Jane Simmons.
A Guymon resident for more than 50 years, Mary was actively involved in Loaves and Fishes, Meals on Wheels, Red Hatters, and served as a charter member of TOPS. She loved being a volunteer at the Texas County Hospital Canteen and was an active member of the First Baptist Church. She was a loyal friend and truly missed her Oklahoma companions when she relocated to Montana.
In St. Regis, Mary was a member of the New Day Church and served as a board member of the St. Regis Senior Citizens. She actively continued crafting, crocheting, and began learning to piece quilts at age 83.
Mary was a beautiful woman, a devoted wife and mother, and one of the strongest women you would have had the privilege of knowing. She was a devout disciple of God, always striving to do the right thing.
Mary is survived by her children, Vernon (Rose) Gotcher, Dr. Gerry (Dee) Gotcher, Gloria Hermes—all of St. Regis—Alvin (Sylvia) Gotcher of Guymon, 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Mary is preceded in death by her children's father, James Earnest Gotcher, and her husband of 22 years, Lynn B. Miller—both of Guymon, Oklahoma—two brothers, a son-in-law, and a grandson-in-law.
Mary will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her. She will be held in our memories forever.
