Mary Ann Earls, 83, longtime Guymon resident, passed away Sunday morning, June 15, 2025 at Wheatridge Park Care Center in Liberal, Kansas.
The daughter of Joel Leon and Grace Alberta (Hoogendoorn) Hoover, she was born March 28, 1942 on the family farm near Elmwood, Oklahoma.
Mary Ann and Charles W. Earls were united in marriage on June 2, 1964 on the family farm. They moved to Guymon from Enid, Oklahoma in 1979. They had also lived in Borger TX, Beaver OK and Grand Forks, ND.
Mary Ann graduated high school in Beaver, Oklahoma, and attended Northwestern in Alva graduating with a teaching degree. She taught elementary school for thirty three years, retiring in 2004. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Retired Teachers and the Red Hat Society. Mary Ann loved camping, doing things with her family, painting, quilting and sewing. She was always doing crafts and activities with the little kids for several generations, which they all enjoyed greatly. She was everyone's favorite aunt, teacher, friend and neighbor.
Mary Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Grace; son, Lance Thomas Earls; three siblings, Noreen Lenz, Jerry Hoover and Troy Hoover and daughter-in-law, Lacrisha Diane (Stephens) Earls.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Earls of the home; two sons: Raylon Earls (and Lisa Hand) and Justin Earls both of Guymon; granddaughter, Shelby Earls (and Matt Heisler) of Guymon; great granddaughter, Katie Ann Heisler of Guymon; four siblings: Earl Hoover and wife, Marquita of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Rose Marie Meyer of Booker, Texas, Louise Lee of Enid, Oklahoma and Johnnie Hoover and wife, Mary of Forgan, Oklahoma. Survivors also include numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be Friday morning, June 27th, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Christ in Beaver, Oklahoma with David Glascock officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the OSU Foundation to the Lacrisha Diane Stephens Earls Memorial Scholarship Fund. This fund supports students pursuing a degree in elementary education…Mary Ann's lifelong passion and profession. Memorials will be accepted at Bunch - Roberts Funeral Home, PO Box 1112, Guymon, Oklahoma 73942.
