Mary O'Neal Cruzan, 96, longtime Guymon resident, passed away Sunday morning, January 28, 2018 at The Fountains at Canterbury in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
The daughter of Albert Newton and Lennie Bell Fulkerson, she was born November 24, 1921 in Drumright, Oklahoma.
Mary was united in marriage to J C Cruzan on January 22, 1940 in Pawnee, Oklahoma. They made their home in Canada and Hooker, moving to Guymon in 1953. J C preceded her in death on December 24, 1997.
Mrs. Cruzan was a homemaker and worked for the ASCS office in Guymon for 28 years. She was an active member of the First Christian Church and member of the Red Hat Society.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, J C son-in-law, Curtis Beer, seven sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include three children: Melvin Cruzan and wife, Betty of Guymon, Dorothy Beer of El Dorado, KS and Linda and husband, Dwain Cooper of Edmond, OK. Survivors also include one brother, Daniel Fulkerson of Stillwater, OK; eight grandchildren, Carla and husband, Martin Hernandez of Guymon, Steve Cruzan and wife, Mona of Guymon, Lisa Cruzan of Broken Arrow, OK, Todd Beer and wife, Leah of Hammon, OK, Rodd Beer and wife, Jennifer of Norman, OK, Brad Worth of Oklahoma City, OK, Pam and husband, Mike Jones of Edmond, OK, and Vicki and husband, Brian Keller of Edmond, OK; thirteen great grandchildren: Haven Hernandez, Payton and Jade Cruzan, Tobey Nightingale, Tatum Ridling, and Tate Beer, Taber Beer, Baylee Mielke, Braeden Beer, Tyler Kelting, Chelsea Jones, MeLinda and Kleet Keller; eight great-great grandchildren: Camden, Wrigley and Dodger Nightingale, Bracket and Rance Ridling, Wryn Beer, Jack Mielke and Piper Elizabeth Kelting due to arrive on April 14th.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday morning, February 1st at 10:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church with Pastor Larry Watson and Rev. Carol LaMar officiating. Interment will follow in the Elmhurst Cemetery. Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
The Cruzan family will greet friends, Wednesday evening between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials in memory of Mrs. Cruzan may be given to Loaves and Fishes Food Cupboard. Memorials will be accepted at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73942.
