"Well done, good and faithful servant!" – Matthew 25:23

Mary Ann Bush, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful servant of Christ, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 87. She was born in 1938 on the family farm, four miles north of Turpin, Oklahoma, to Lee and Anna Windsor. The fifth of eight children, she grew up in a home filled with love, faith, and hard work.

Mary Ann graduated from Turpin High School in 1956, where she was active as a majorette, a basketball player, and loved history and home economics. Her love for sewing, passed down from her mother, became a lifelong gift that she shared with her family.

She followed God's calling to Gulf Coast Bible College in Houston, Texas, where she met the love of her life, John "Jack" Paul Bush of Michigan. Together, they embarked on a journey of ministry and service. She earned an associate degree in Christian education and music. Then, in the sweltering Oklahoma heat of August 15, 1958, she and Jack were united in marriage at Bethel Church near Turpin, Oklahoma. Their love and faith bore the fruit of four children: John Michael, Phillip Paul, Nancy Jo, and Susan Joyce.

Mary Ann devoted her life to ministry alongside her husband, faithfully serving congregations in Kansas, Oklahoma, Michigan, Ohio, and Virginia. Whether leading children's choirs, teaching Sunday School, playing the organ, or singing alongside Jack, she lived out her faith in every aspect of her life. She and Jack were instrumental in launching the annual Church of God Live Nativity in Elkhart, a tradition that continued for many years. After Jack's passing at the age of 56, Mary Ann continued her journey of service as the women's resident director at Mid-America Christian University (formerly Gulf Coast Bible College) in Oklahoma City for 10 years. She touched the lives of countless students, offering wisdom, kindness, and a listening ear. She became a beloved presence at the college switchboard and found joy in reconnecting with friends and alumni, especially during national basketball tournaments.

In her later years, Mary Ann made her home in Elkhart, Kansas. She faithfully attended the Elkhart Church of God, where she and her husband ministered early in their ministry. Her unwavering faith was evident in her commitment to ensuring her tithe reached the church each month, even in her final days. Known affectionately as "Grandma Bush" by the children she read to in her daughter Nancy's 2nd grade class, she cherished every greeting from the young lives she had touched. Her presence was warmly recognized by name at local drive-thrus, a testament to her friendly spirit and love for her community.

She leaves behind a cherished legacy through her children: John Michael Bush (Julie) and Phillip Paul Bush (Robin) of Jeffersonville, KY; Nancy Jo Morrison (Kent) of Elkhart, KS; and Susan Joyce O'Brien (Tony) of Wanette, OK. Her love continues through her seven grandchildren: Whitney (Jarrod) Rudesill, Lee (Amanda) Bush, Lauran (Dustin) Whitmore, Jorie (Blake) Fulton, Kate (Ethan) Taulbee, Jill (Andrew) Dages, and Makenzie (Brad) Shelton. Her 12 great-grandchildren, Ryan, Rosalind, and Rhett Rudesill; Grayson and Harrison Ginter; Raelyn and Brighton Bush; Dax Fulton; Hayes and an expected brother Taulbee; Anderson Dages; and Theo Shelton, will carry on her spirit of faith and love.

She is now reunited in glory with her beloved husband Jack, her parents Lee and Anna Windsor, her seven siblings—Lowell, Sam, Les, Carl, and Dora Windsor; Ruby Harrington; and Joyce Thrasher—as well as her in-laws George and Marian Bush, and brothers-in-law George Bush, Hubert Harrington, and Raymond Lee Thrasher.

Mary Ann's life was one of devotion, service, and love, and her legacy of faith will live on in the many lives she touched. Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice in the knowledge that she is now in the presence of her Savior, reunited with loved ones, and experiencing the eternal joy of Heaven.

The viewing, where the family will receive guests, will be held on Monday, February 24th, from 6:00-8:00 PM at The First Church of God in Elkhart, KS. A celebration of her life will take place at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 25th, at The First Church of God in Elkhart, KS, where friends and family will gather to honor a woman who truly exemplified the love of Christ. A private family burial will take place following the service.
