Marla Denise Mock, 68, of Guymon passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 25, 2017 at Baptist St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo, Texas.
Marla was the daughter of Nora Louise (Harsh) and Arden D. Swisher, and later adoptive daughter to Eva Hassler. She was born on September 6, 1948 in Syracuse, Kansas. Marla was united in marriage to Harold Mock on March 29, 1991 at Taos, New Mexico.
Marla had a very kind, generous and loving heart, always caring for others. Growing up in a family restaurant business, it was her dream to have her own restaurant. In 1987, that dream became a reality and she opened her first restaurant. Marla's Restaurant has been a large part of the community and it was the beginning of many lasting friendships for Marla. Marla enjoyed spending time with her friends and family more than anything and she loved her special companion, Koko, her baby Chihuahua and all her special grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Marla was preceded in death by her mother, Nora Louise Merrak; her father, Arden Swisher; her nephew, Jimmie Crane and her niece, Jordan Dennington.
Survivors include her husband, Harold Mock of the home; daughters, Terri Kalm and husband, Floyd of Guymon, Bobbi Schallert of Guymon, Tracy Jones and husband, John of Newbern, TN; son, Jody Anderson of Guymon; step daughter, Kimberly Mock of Clayton, NM and step sons, Rustin Mock and wife, Jennifer of Clayton, NM and Clinton Mock and wife, Crystal of LaSalle, CO. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren: Ricky Kalm, Zack Schallert, Chelsey Hyer, Halie Schallert, Paige Jones, Payton Jones, Presley Jones, Matthew Mock, Justin Mock, Cameron Mock, Jordan Montoya, Dakota Montoya, Colby Montoya, Shade Cruz, Kaitlin Mock, Geo Swagerty, Rustlyn Mock and Ruger Mock; great grandchildren: Case and Charter Hyer, Taylin Schallert and Eli Ortiz. She is also survived by her mother, Eva Hassler of Enid, OK, sisters: Vicki George of El Paso, TX, Nora Dennington and husband, Ritchie of Duncan, OK, Kim Strain of Enid, OK, Karen Hochhalter and husband, Jon of Enid, OK, Jenise Best and husband, Scott of Benbrook, TX; her brothers: Jim Crane and wife, Jackie of Douglass, KS, Johnny Hassler and wife, Angel of Wichita, KS and numerous other family and friends.
Memorial services will be conducted Friday afternoon, April 28th at 2:00 p.m. at the Victory Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Holdeman officiating. A family inurnment service will be at a later date at the Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon. Services are under the care of the Bunch - Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
