Lynda Garcia, 74, of Tyrone passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kansas.
The daughter of Manuel and Eulogia Marie "Lola" (Armijo) Roybal, Amelinda Mary "Lynda" was born June 29, 1947 in Keyes, Oklahoma. She moved with her family to Guymon in 1960.
Lynda was married to Pete Garcia and they had two sons and one daughter. Lynda later married Don Johnson and they adopted a son, Darrell Lynn Johnson.
Lynda was known for her big heart, loving nature, and strong work ethic. She worked many jobs over the years, most recently as a caregiver for elderly individuals and cleaning houses. Lynda was a licensed CNA and CMA. Her huge family brought her much joy and many remember her as a nurturing presence in their lives. If not working or spending time with family, Lynda enjoyed spending her time fishing. It provided her with a sense of peace and calm that everyday life rarely allowed. Lynda also had a great love for her Lord and Savior and enjoyed studying his word; she studied for, and received, ordination from Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs. She was currently a member of Centro Cristiano Church in Tyrone/Liberal, KS.
She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Enacita L. Garcia; her son, Darrell Johnson; her father, Manuel Roybal, Sr.; her mother and step-father, Lola and Santiago "Jimmy" Gonzales; three sisters, Dorothy Roybal, Juanita Blackburn, and Georgia Murray; and four brothers, Ralph, Gilbert, Ernest, and Manuel Roybal, Jr.
She is survived by her two sons, Peter J. Garcia of Guymon, Oklahoma and Rocky E. Garcia of Mission, Texas four grandchildren: Lorraine Garcia, Jenae and husband, Jayson Coleman, Rocky E. Garcia, Jr., and Rosella Garcia Phiester – Lynda was also a grandmother to all the other children she met throughout her lifetime; one sister, Marcia Ramirez of Oklahoma City; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held on Sunday, December 19 th from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon, December 20 th at 2:00 p.m. at the Bunch – Roberts Chapel with Rev. Mario Laredo officiating.
