Lucy Padilla Garcia, 83, passed away Friday morning, December 4, 2020 at her home in Guymon.

The daughter of Higinio and Juanita (Vigil) Padilla, she was born December 13, 1936 in Clayton, New Mexico.  She was raised in Clayton and attended school there.

Lucy was united in marriage to Augustine Garcia on August 9, 1952 in Dalhart, Texas.  He preceded her in death on  October 26, 1990.  She moved to Guymon in 1972 from Garden City, Kansas and was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church.  Lucy worked as a Certified Medical Assistant at Dunaway Manor for many years and was a homemaker.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, Johnny Julian Jimenez; two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include two daughters, Lena Stokes and husband, Ray of Guymon and Dorothy Guerin of South Padre Island, Texas; six grandchildren:  Stephanie Jimenez of Plainview, TX, Monica Jimenez of Guymon, Judy Lesburg of Knippa, TX, Julia Price of San Antonio, TX, Chris Pineda of Lubbock, TX and Joseph Sierra and wife, Melissa of South Padre Island, TX; numerous great and great-great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon, December 10 ^th at 2:00 p.m. at the Bunch – Roberts Chapel with Rev. Odie Nunley officiating.  Family inurnment will be at a later date in the Elmhurst Cemetery.  Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home.
