Linda Dianne McDowell, 75, of Edmond formerly of Guymon received her heavenly reward on Wednesday morning, January 31, 2024 at her home.

The daughter of John and Verna (Ferran) Barbour, she was born November 28, 1948 in Terre Haute, Indiana. Linda was raised in Terre Haute, graduating from Wiley High School. She then attended Indiana State University.

Linda and Michael A. McDowell were united in marriage on September 19, 1969 in Terre Haute. The family moved to Guymon in 1982 where they raised two sons: Bryant and Kevin.

Linda had worked several years for the City of Guymon as a billing clerk. She was a member of Panhandle Bible Center, later becoming Connection Church. Her and Mike moved to Edmond in August 2019.

She was preceded in death by her parents, six sibling and son, Kevin Michael McDowell on November 9, 2018.

Survivors include her devoted husband of over 54 years, Mike McDowell of the home; one son, Bryant McDowell and wife, Amy of Houston, Texas; eight grandchildren: Bailey, Riley, Kirsten, Kallin, Sydney, Chloe, Liam and Gretchen; one great grandchild due in July and one brother, Jerry Barbour and wife, Wanda of Rosedale, Indiana.

The family will greet friends on Sunday evening, February 4th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon, February 5th at 2:00 p.m. at Connection Church with Jim Jamieson and Rev. Dr. Dallas McGlasson officiating. A family graveside service will be held at the Elmhurst Cemetery at a later time.
