Lennah Mae Bledsoe, 94, of Guymon went to be with her Savior and departed loved ones on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.
The daughter of Robert P. and Edith B. (Passmore) Scarbrough, she was born May 14, 1930 five miles north of Guymon, Oklahoma. The family moved to Guymon in 1933 and Lennah attended Guymon schools for 12 years, graduating with the class of 1948. She received Christ as her Lord and Savior in April of 1948. She was a member of the Guymon Foursquare Church.
Lennah and Joseph Pierce were married in 1949. They were blessed with four children. Lennah and Norman Dean "Bud" Bledsoe were united in marriage on December 27, 1988.
Lennah was employed by GTE as a telephone operator for 35 years, retiring in 1991, when the Guymon GTE office closed. She enjoyed crocheting afghans for all of her children and grandchildren, decorating birthday cakes for family and having coffee with all of her GTE friends.
Because of declining health in 2018, Bud and Lennah moved to Edmond, Oklahoma where they lived in Assisted Living.
Lennah was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bud in March of 2021, her parents, three sisters, Grace Marcella in 1924, Betty LaVon Krock in 1997 and Mary Edith Allen in 1998, a half-brother, Robert Scarbrough Jr., and two half sisters, Gladys Middlebrooks and Louise Armstrong.
Survivors include one daughter, Connie Lynn Clemans and her husband Alan of rural Guymon; three sons, Joseph David "Jody" Jr and his wife Charla of Guymon; James Kirby "Jim" Pierce and his wife Karen of Benton, Arkansas; Jerald Steven "Jerry" Pierce and his wife Rita of Edmond, Oklahoma; two stepdaughters Deborah Wright and husband Don of Georgetown, Texas; and Michelle Frith and husband Ron of Manchach, Texas. Lennah is survived by 13 grandchildren: Barbara Toth and husband Andrew, Julie Pierce and husband Lonnie; Christopher Pierce and wife Nancy; Joshua Pierce and wife Payton; Tarah Burnett and husband James; Shanna Raper and husband Kris; Kirby Pierce and wife Terra; Erin Pierce and fiancée Brent White; Spencer Pierce and wife Misty; Steven Pierce and wife Ashley Hardman; David Wright and wife Leigh; Devin Wright and wife Setsumi; and Sumner Meckel and wife Chealsea. She is also survived by 26 great grandchildren: Allison and Derek Toth; Bret and Cody Pierce; Charrissa Vaughn, Bailey and Ociee Pierce, Ashley Huckins, Megan Rodgers, and Annie Barajas; Ella and Kaden Raper; Hudsyn and Emalin Pierce; Hunter, Tanner, and Trinity Burnett; Brayden Howard, M'Kendree and Kaden Dick; Phoebe and Asher Pierce; Gabby and Gracie Pierce; Hudson and Gibson Wright. She is also survived by numerous great-great grandchildren.
There will be a time of visitation with the family on Monday evening, January 13th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, January 14th at 2:00 p.m. at the Bunch – Roberts Chapel with Rev. Dr. Dallas McGlasson officiating. Interment will follow at the Elmhurst Cemetery.
