Lana Joyce Smith, 74, of Guymon, passed away Sunday evening, September 22, 2024, at Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo, Texas, surrounded by her loving family.

The daughter of William "Alton" and Ida "Frances" (Stokes) Brewster, she was born May 1, 1950, in Dumas, Texas. Lana graduated from Stratford High School with the Class of 1968, and a Bachelor of Science degree in 1972 from Oklahoma Panhandle State in Goodwell.

Lana and Benny Bob Smith were united in marriage on December 20, 1969, in Stratford, Texas. She was a homemaker and was employed with Farmers Home Administration for many years before joining the Bank of the Panhandle in Guymon, where she continued her career until retiring in 2013. Lana was an active member of the Victory Memorial Methodist Church and loved volunteering at the Methodist Clothing Ministry.

From a young age, Lana loved traveling to Lake City, Colorado, relaxing and fishing with her family. Benny and Lana continued this exciting summer tradition with their children and grandchildren. Lana always enjoyed time fishing with Benny, her monthly bunco nights, cheering on the Sooners, and special memories with the Prime Timers and Sunday night pizza crew. For the past 18 years, she has embraced the role of "Nana" to her grandchildren with a love that has touched our hearts. She shared countless memories that will forever be a part of their lives.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alton and Frances Brewster, and one sister, Lynda Hart.

Survivors include her husband of nearly fifty-five years, Benny Bob, and two children: Candace Joiner and husband, Jonathan of Jenks, Oklahoma, and Dru Smith and wife, Kara of Owasso, Oklahoma. Survivors include four grandchildren: Isabella & Kennedy Joiner, Vaden, and Allie Joyce Smith. She will be missed dearly by the many family and friends whom she loved.

Funeral services will be on Saturday morning, September 28, at 10:00 a.m. at the Victory Memorial Methodist Church in Guymon with Pastor David Player officiating. Interment will follow in the Elmhurst Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Friday, September 27, between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. at Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home.
