Obituary

Kerry Glen Culver, 53, of Guymon passed away Monday, July 18th, 2016 at the UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica, California.

The son of Lile Gene and Peggy L. (West) Culver, he was born September 1, 1962 in Elk City, Oklahoma. Kerry attended school in Guymon, graduating with the Class of 1982.

On November 24, 1980, he was married to his high school love, Angela Dawn Seymour in Dumas, Texas. To this union three beautiful children were born: Kory Lynn, Kara Dawn and Kilian Glen. They made their home in Guymon. Spending time with his family was one of his greatest joys in life.

Kerry worked most of his life in the oilfield as a pumper and also as a driller for Total Lease Well Service for many years, where he made many lifelong friends. Later in Kerry's life he started working with Highway Contractors, repairing highways all over.

Kerry was a very laid back, easy going person who always big smile on his face, even if he was having a bad day. Kerry had a heart of gold and would help anyone or give anything he could to help. Kerry loved music of all kinds and when home from work, he could be found playing his guitar while listening to his music. Kerry had such a big heart for animals – there wasn't an animal he didn't bring home or he hadn't owned. He loved being outdoors hunting, fishing, camping, gardening or even barbecuing with family and friends. His dream was to see the world, as long as his travels didn't lead him to cold weather, since he didn't like the cold. Kerry always had a joy in meeting new people – he could sit and talk like he had known someone for years. He enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest.

Kerry was preceded in death by his grandparents: Dorothy Culver, Ervin Culver, Leora West and John H. West; the love of his life, Angela Dawn Seymour; as well as many others that have gone before him.

He is survived by his parents, Gene and Peggy Culver of Guymon; two sons, Kory Culver and wife, Apryl of Woodward, Oklahoma and Kilian Culver of Guymon; one daughter, Kara Culver and Jared of Guymon; one brother, Kendall Culver and wife, Debbie of Guymon; one sister, Kimberly (Culver) Garrison and husband, Gary Robinson of Denton, Texas; eight grandchildren: Karanda, Kaitlynn and Kyanna of Woodward, Hanna and Racie of Guymon, and Sierra, Jesse and Riley of Elkhart, Kansas; three nieces: Kendra Culver, Kadee (Culver) Dunn and Krista Garrison; two nephews: Keegan Culver and Kaleb Garrison; along with many more nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Graveside memorial services will be conducted Saturday morning, August 20th at 10:00 a.m. at the Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon with Rev. Odie Nunley officiating. Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
