Kathleen Patricia Jones Nicks passed away early Saturday morning, May 9, 2020, at her home in Frederick, Oklahoma.
Kathy was born in Guymon, Oklahoma on March 3, 1959 to Dorothy M. and Lloyd R. Jones of Goodwell, Oklahoma.
She attended Goodwell Schools her entire life and graduated with her class of Goodwell Eagles in 1977.
She graduated from Oklahoma Panhandle State University, Goodwell, Oklahoma in 1989.
She married John Nicks in April of 1988. The loves of her life are her children, Kandy Jones and Kerry Michael Nicks.
Kathy loved playing basketball in high school and played 6 on 6 where she was a ferocious guard. She also loved watching the Oklahoma City Thunder and texting with all of her sisters during the games. She loved to plant tomatoes and she especially was interested in different types of cactus.
She is survived by her husband, John and her children Kandy and Mike. Five sisters, Judy Jones Arnold (Jim), Kingsville, Texas, Karen Jones O'Neill, Edmond, Oklahoma, Barbara Jones Cunningham (Rodney), Alva, Oklahoma, Mary Anne Jones Burdo (Ben), Guymon, Oklahoma and Diane Jones May (Randy), Amarillo, Texas. One brother, Michael Jones (Mary), of Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Two sisters in law Diane Erickson and Sharon Riley and brother in law Joe Nicks.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and cousins as well.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Lloyd R. and Dorothy M. Jones and her mother and father in law Arlan and Janet Nicks.
A memorial funeral mass will be held on Saturday, October 17th at 1:30 p.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. Burial will be at the Goodwell Cemetery. All are welcome and we ask that you please wear a mask.
Memorials in Kathy's name can be made to The Blessed Stanley Rother Shrine Endowment at the Catholic Foundation of Oklahoma or to Loaves and Fishes.
