June J. Smith, 94, longtime Texhoma resident passed away July 6, 2021 at the Brookefield Park Care Center in St. Paul, Nebraska.

The daughter of Rupert Orris and Eva Chloe (Woods) Johnson, she was born June 19, 1927 in Chico, Texas.

June and Byron (Smitty) Smith were united in marriage on October 26, 1967 in Texhoma. He preceded her in death on September 8, 2017.

June was a full time homemaker and seamstress. She was an active member of the First Christian Church and member of the Red Hat Society. June enjoyed oil and water color painting, sewing and quilting, designing clothes, and spending time with family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Byron Smith; sisters: Mary Weatherly, Vinita Stone and Ladetta Ledbetter; son-in-law, Glen Keylon; granddaughter, Carla Cady, great grandson, Kody Keylon; one niece and two nephews.

Survivors include two daughters: Sandra and husband, Bill Percifield of Keyes, Oklahoma and Blenda Smith Keylon of Wood River, Nebraska; three sons: Cliff Fox and wife, Helen of Fritch, Texas, Derrel (Derry) Smith and wife, Kathy of Miami, Texas, and Gregory (Pokey) Smith and wife, Alice of Bushland, Texas. Survivors also include many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held Friday morning, August 6th at 10:00 a.m. at the Texhoma First Christian Church with Rev. Larry Watson, pastor of the Guymon First Christian Church officiating. Family inurnment will be in the Texhoma Cemetery.
