Obituary

Joseph Calvin Buttry, II, 41, passed away Monday, July 25th, 2016 in Fremont, California while on a business trip.

The son of James and Delores (Martinez) Buttry he was born May 15, 1975 in Guymon. At the age of two he moved with his family to Elkhart, Kansas, and two years later to Keyes, Oklahoma where he was a 12 year student. Joe loved sports and participated in basketball and track for the Keyes Pirates. He was an avid hunter and raised gundogs for field trials. He also loved deer hunting and fishing.

After graduating high school, Joe lived for a while in Guymon, and worked at the Seaboard Plant. Joe met and married Karen Keenan. They eventually moved to Goldsboro, North Carolina and from there to the Roosevelt, New Jersey area, where Joe attended DeVry University and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering three years later, with Honors and a 9 semester 4.0 GPA. He worked in the nation-wide pharmaceutical industry calibrating, maintaining and developing equipment that assures medicinal purity and dosage. Joe traveled extensively and developed friendships where he went.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Calvin and Martha Buttry of Goodwell, Oklahoma and Lucas and Sue Martinez of Guymon, Oklahoma.

Survivors include his children, Trace Keenan Buttry of Wichita, Kansas, John Mitchell Buttry and Emily Ann Buttry and his ex-wife Karen, of Levittown, Pennsylvania, a brother Chad Buttry of Kit Carson, Colorado, a sister Jaimie Buttry of Enid, Oklahoma, his parents, James and Delores Buttry of Kit Carson, Colorado; his fiancé, Sarah Gordon and son, Dane of Walnut Creek, California and hundreds of friends and relatives.

Memorial services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, August 13th at 2:00 p.m. at the Free Will Baptist Church in Guymon with Rev. Bob Witt officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Elmhurst Cemetery. Services are under the care of the Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
