Obituary

Jose Avalos Castañeda, 84, of Guymon passed away early Sunday, November 8, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

The son of Concio Castaneda and Maria Ana Avalos, he was born January 15, 1936 in Santa Clara, Durango, Mexico.

Jose Avalos and Victoriana Piña were married May 27, 1961 in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico.  They came to Guymon from Juarez in June 1992.  Mr. Avalos worked with knives at Seaboard Foods.  He loved spending time gardening.

He was preceded in death by one son, David Avalos on February 5, 2010 and one sister, Suzana Villarreal.

Survivors include his wife, Victoriana of the home; eleven children:  Luz Avalos of Liberal, KS, Moises Avalos of Guymon, Ana Avalos of Liberal, Ernesto Avalos of Phoenix, AZ, Gloria Avalos of Guymon, Norma Avalos of Guymon, Raquel Villa of Phoenix, Marisela Avalos of Denver, CO, Irene Avalos of Guymon, Victor Jose Avalos of Mexico and Teresa Avalos of Liberal; thirty-nine grandchildren:  Jesus, Andres, David and Esteban Romo, Erick, Miguel and Daniel Avalos, Jose and Esmeralda Lara, Adrian, Jabriel, Isabel and Jonathan Avalos, Mayra and Eliezer Ponce, Marcos Camacho, Armando and Alejandro Avalos, Adriel, Itzel, Zayra and Yahir Villa, Alejandra, Jessenia and Victoria Avalos, Jaime Jose, Graciela, Gabriela and Jeremias Gutierrez, Anayeli, Ernesto, Xinema and Aaron Avalos, Jose, Ericka, Daniel, Brenda and Luis Triana, and Sebastian Uriostegui; seventeen great grandchildren: Abigail, Neveah and Daisy Romo, Gissell and Samuel Avalos, Kora, Nathan and Sebastian Avalos, Atticus Blaze Gutierrez, Autumn Gallegos, Ezra Camargo, Devin and Daney Romo, Marian and Jonathan Cardoza and Aurora and Serenity Lara; one brother, Isidro Fraire and one sister, Adelina Fraire, both of Juarez.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon, November 10th at 2:00 p.m. at the First Hispanic Baptist Church, 601 N. Academy with Pastor Refugio Villa officiating.  Interment will follow at the Elmhurst Cemetery.  Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
