Bernard John Kraber, 79, longtime Guymon resident, passed away Saturday morning, April 23, 2022 at the Heritage Community Manor.
The son of Bernard John Kraber Sr. and Irma Martha All, he was born September 6, 1942 in Rolla, Kansas. He attended the Rolla school, graduating with the Pirate Class of 1961. He loved playing football, as one of his coaches said, he might be short and scrawny but he could down a big guy. His parents never missed a game.
John and Sharon Lea Ellsaesser were united in marriage on December 29, 1966 in Liberal, Kansas. The family moved to Guymon from Elkhart, Kansas in 1977.
John worked for over thirty years as a well technician with both Panhandle Eastern and Anadarko Petroleum. He was a member of the Victory Center Church. John was a prankster, just ask his sisters, daughters, class mates and fellow employees, they can tell stories on him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Bernadean Cotter and brother, Earl "Sonny" Kraber.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon of the home, four daughters, Gail DeSpain and husband, Thad of Garden City, Kanas, Joanna Childress and husband, Shawn of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Lynette Wing and husband, Dustin of Plano, Texas and Katy Holt and husband, Joshua of Harrah, Oklahoma. Survivors also include nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and three sisters, Alice Hill of Tyrone, Oklahoma, Irma Lee Hoskinson of Rolla, Kansas and Jean Bane of Elkhart, Kansas.
The family will greet friends Friday evening, April 29th between the hour of 7:00 and 9:00 p.m. at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home.
Interment will be Saturday morning, April 30th at 10:00 a.m. in the Richfield Cemetery with Eugene Like officiating. Memorial services will be Saturday afternoon, April 30th at 2:00 p.m. at the Victory Center with Pastor Margaret Mendenhall officiating.
Memorials in John's memory may be given to the Victory Center building fund or charity of choice. Memorials will be accepted at the church office or the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, PO Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73942. Friends can sign the online guestbook and leave condolences at www.bunchroberts.com.
