Jo Ann "Joey" Lovato, 84, well known Guymon restaurant owner, passed away Tuesday evening September 19th, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
The daughter of Joe B. and Ina Faye (Parker) Carver, she was born January 11, 1933 in Chandler, Texas. Joey attended school in Brownsboro, Texas.
She was united in marriage to Leo R. Lovato on December 5, 1954 in Clovis, New Mexico. They moved to Guymon from Lubbock, Texas in 1970. Joey and Leo owned and operated Lovato's Mexican Restaurant for over 27 years. She was a homemaker and attended the Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Leo of the home; two sons: Ron Lovato and wife, Lian of Oklahoma City and Greg Lovato of Guymon; and one grandson, Alex Lovato of Oklahoma City. Survivors also include six brothers and sisters: Sue Hamill of Portland, Oregon, Wanda Smith and husband, Ivan of Guymon, Bobby Gene Carver and wife, Sheryl of Guymon, Carolyn Faye Mandrell and Gwenda Lou Batterman both of Amarillo, Texas and Victor Lynn Carver and wife, Marcy of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Graveside services will be conducted Friday morning, September 22nd at 11:00 a.m. at the Elmhurst Cemetery with Pastor Stacy Ross officiating. Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
Memorials in memory of Joey may be given to the American Cancer Society. Memorials will be accepted at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, Oklahoma 73942.
