Jimmie Leslie Smith, 76, of Texhoma passed away Saturday evening, December 23, 2023 at the Thomas E. Creek VA Medical Center in Amarillo.
The son of Albert Leslie and Sara Ann (Raines) Smith, he was born July 9, 1947 in Clayton, New Mexico.  Following high school, Jimmie served two tours in Vietnam in the US Army from November 1964 to February 1978.  At the time of his honorable discharge he was serving at the rank of E6, SSG.

Jimmie and Pamela Henley were united in marriage on April 5, 1983 in Clayton, NM.  They made Texline their home until 2014 when he sold his business and they moved to Texhoma.  Jimmie had served as Mayor and Judge and "trash man" (owner of Tri State Recycling) of Texline, Texas.  He was also a member of the Green Iron, Dalhart Car Club and Lion's Club.  He was a member of the Texhoma First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father.

Survivors include his wife Pam Smith of the home; son Michael and wife Kim; daughters: Malia and husband Orin, Jami and husband Adam, Sheri and husand Sev, Amy and husband Roger, Mandy and husband Trevor; 20 grandkids and 8 great grandkids.  He is also survived by two sisters: Kellie and Mistie; six brothers: Kenneth, Jack, Joe, Randy, Martin and Kevin; his bonus mom, Martha Smith; along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday evening, December 26th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Texhoma First Baptist Church.  Funeral services with military honors will be conducted Wednesday afternoon, December 27th at 2:00 p.m. also at Texhoma First Baptist Church with Pastor Darren Carpenter and Billy Ramage officiating.  Services are under the care of the Bunch - Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.

Memorials in Jimmie's name can be made to the Texhoma First Baptist Church for the RA and GA progams.  Memorials will be accepted at the church office or at the Bunch - Roberts Funeral Home, PO Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73942.
