Jim L. Smith, 83, of Colcord, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, July 8, 2016 at the Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Arkansas.

The son of James O. and Hazel L. (Ferguson) Smith, he was born November 9, 1932 in Texhoma, Oklahoma.

Jim and Shirley Christian were united in marriage on April 15, 1961. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Jim was a farmer and rancher, he also sold real estate and propane. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Siloam Springs, Arkansas.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Don and Jerry Smith and sister, Joan Driver.

Survivors include his wife Shirley of the home; two sons: Monte Smith and wife, Deb of Lamar, Colorado and Steve Smith and wife, Rachel of Colcord, Oklahoma; one daughter, Cindy Heaton of Ulysses, Kansas; six grandchildren: Casey Heaton, Laura Hill and husband Chance, Laramie Heaton, Jayden Heaton, Kallie Gilbert and husband David, and Kolton Smith; four great grandchildren: Kinlie Hill, Raylie Hill, Shelby Gilbert, and Kort Gilbert; two sisters, Carol Beck of Texhoma, Oklahoma and Velma Barton and husband, Mex of Canadian, Texas; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday morning, July 13th at 10:30 a.m. at the Texhoma United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Enright, pastor officiating. Interment will follow in the Texhoma Cemetery. Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.
