James O. "Jim" Costner, 74, lifelong Guymon resident, passed away Friday July 20, 2018 at the Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The son of John and Peggy (Duke) Costner, he was born November 30, 1943 in Guymon.  Jim attended Guymon schools, graduating with the Class of 1962.  He was a member of the First Christian Church, joining the Trinity Lutheran Church in 1997.

Jim and Myrtle Brune were united in marriage on August 18, 1967 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Guymon.  Jim served as production foreman with Occidental Petroleum, retiring in 2009.  He was a member of the Excel Plus Camping Club of Oklahoma.

He is preceded in death by one son, Bruce Costner and his parents, John and Peggy Costner.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Myrtle of the home; one son, Brian Costner and wife, Mary of Beaver, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Talisha Coleman and husband, Tyson of Guymon, Tristan Pell and husband, Larry of Forgan, Oklahoma, Tiffany Costner and fiancé, Tyrel Taton of Thackerville, Oklahoma and Tyler Costner of Denver, Colorado.  Survivors also include one brother, Gerald Costner and wife, Erma of Edmond, Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon, July 27 ^th at 2:00 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Wescoatt officiating.  Family interment will follow in the Elmhurst Cemetery.  Services are under the care of the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon.

The Costner family will greet friends Thursday evening, July 26 ^th between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorials in memory of Jim may be given to Trinity Lutheran LWML.  Memorials will be accepted at the church office or the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home, P.O.
